Part 13

Green Papaya Curry:

With green papaya chunks cooked in a fragrant, aromatic coconut curry sauce, this Green Papaya Curry is really delightful.

The unripe fruit of the papaya, known as green papaya, originated in Central America but is now grown across the Caribbean and even in Florida. It was also prepared as a vegetable side dish and boiled in salty water. Green papaya is used in salads, stews, and braised dishes in various Asian cuisines. One can use it to make a Jamaican-style curry which is quite tasty. This curry is served with cooked brown rice or quinoa.

Green papaya has outstanding health advantages. It has more papain than ripe papaya, a digestive enzyme that aids in the breakdown of protein in the body. Digestive health is enhanced by papain. The latex and fibre in green papaya make it simpler for waste to flow from the colon. Papaya contains carotenoids, which the body transforms into vitamin A, which improves eye health and prevents macular degeneration.
