Blockbuster Success Continues: 'Gadar 2' Roars at the Box Office



Sunny Deol's movie sequel, "Gadar 2," has maintained its impressive performance at the box office on its second day, earning a remarkable INR 83.18 crores within just two days of release. The film's success is attributed to Sunny Deol's portrayal of the character Tara Singh. Directed by Anil Sharma, who also directed the original 2001 film "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha," the sequel was eagerly awaited and has exceeded expectations. On the second day alone, the film collected INR 43.08 crore net, contributing to a total of INR 83.18 crore net so far. These exceptional numbers, usually achieved by solo releases, position "Gadar 2" as the second-fastest film to enter the Rs 100 crore club in 2023.


Salman Khan also took to Instagram to applaud Sunny Deol and "Gadar 2." He shared Sunny Deol's poster and praised his performance, mentioning that Sunny paaji's "Dhai kilo ka haath" (a reference to Sunny Deol's iconic dialogue) has resulted in a strong opening of INR 40 crore. Salman Khan congratulated the entire team for their success.


The original "Gadar," released in 2001 and also directed by Anil Sharma, was a romantic-action drama set during the Partition of India and was a massive hit. Additionally, the movie "OMG 2," featuring Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam, and Pankaj Tripathi in leading roles, has collected INR 25.56 crore net within two days at the domestic box office. The film, produced by Cape of Good Films and Wakaoo, addresses various issues faced by teenagers and emphasizes the importance of sex education.
