Miles to Go: How Kirti V Balances Poetry, Purpose, and Pedagogy

In a world where voices often get lost in the noise, Kirti V. stands out for her quiet consistency, profound introspection, and unwavering belief in lifelong learning. Shortlisted as one of the six distinguished candidates for the Tribute Global Digi Awards for Women 2025, Kirti’s journey is not only one of personal transformation but of inspiring countless others—both in and outside the classroom.

A teacher by profession and an “accidental poet” by her own admission, Kirti hails from Kerala and now calls Bangalore her home. She is a voracious reader, confident orator, and multilingual writer who weaves words across three languages. With over 50 anthology publications and three solo poetry collections—Tides of Life (2022), From My Pen (2024), and Poetic Pearls (2024)—Kirti has created a literary legacy that speaks to both heart and intellect.

But Kirti’s work goes beyond the page. As an educator, she views herself as a sculptor of young minds, driven by the mission to make learning engaging, joyful, and meaningful. “Being an educator, I feel that I am entitled to carve the future of our nation,” she reflects. And it’s this very belief that fuels her commitment to writing, teaching, and learning.

When asked about her thoughts on being shortlisted for the award, Kirti shared a deeply personal reflection:

"As an educator, I believe that I am a lifelong learner. Just like how children need that 'pat on the back' as a motivation to march ahead, we adults also need them. I take this nomination and shortlisting as that pat on the back reminding me of the purpose of what I am doing. The nomination and shortlisting also resonates the lines of Robert Frost -
'The woods are lovely dark and deep
But I have promises to keep
And miles to go before I sleep
And miles to go before I sleep'.
These lines are my life's mantra as it echoes the fact that we should keep going and learning in life."

Her words reflect a truth many resonate with: recognition is not the destination, but a moment of affirmation on a longer, purposeful journey.

Kirti’s impact, however, is not without its challenges. She continues to navigate societal expectations and gender bias with resilience. “Some people still think, ‘After all, she’s a lady—this is the max she can do,’” she says. “I want that mindset to change.” Despite this, she continues to rise—motivated by the belief that every woman can create space for herself and others to thrive.

A lifelong admirer of Enid Blyton, whose books sparked her love for language, Kirti also finds inspiration in strong female figures across sectors: Sushma Swaraj in politics, Indra Nooyi in business, Marie Curie in science, and countless women athletes who defied odds to leave their mark.

Her poetry—rooted in lived experience, emotional nuance, and social reflection—can be found on her website, www.kirtisignature.com. Kirti’s poems are not just an expression of self but a means of forging connection, healing, and change.

At The Holistic Pine, we believe that voices like Kirti’s are the soul of literary and educational evolution. Her journey reminds us that excellence is not just about accolades—it’s about impact, intention, and the courage to keep going.
